Monica has been asked to be a guest speaker at the 25th Annual NSTA Symposium. Held in Las Vegas, NV, the three day event gathers a group of doctors and professionals who specialize in the treatment of Spasmodic Torticollis/Cervical Dystonia. Monica has been asked to discuss the benefits of physical therapy in treating this mysterious and debilitating disorder, as she is one of the few physical therpists knowledgable in this arena.

Monica continues to be at the forefront of the physical therapy industry as she beings her certification in Applied Functional Science at the acclaimed Gray Institute. Through this program, the convergence of multiple sciences teaches new techniques for assessments, training and conditioning, rehabilitation, and injury prevention. Upon completion, Monica will become a fellow of the institution, demonstrating confidence and competence in the Principles-Strategies-Techniques Process of Applied Functional Science.


 

Monica is now certified in cervical thoracic integration, a method for treating neck problems.

 

At the 2010 American Academy of Neurology (AAN) conference held in Toronto, Canada, Monica Joshi spoke to the attendees about how Physical Therapy can benefit patients with Cervical Dystonia in conjunction with botox injections. Monica has also authored a booklet on treatment options for Cervical Dystonia.

Monica Joshi is certified in Active Release Technique for the spine and the upper extremities.
